Having a fragrant garden takes some special planning. First of all you want to take note of the prevailing wind patterns in your yard. Second, pay attention to the foot traffic and take note of were people walk. You want to place your plants in an area where the wind will blow the wonderful aromas through your open windows. English cottage gardens are usually a hodge podge of classical heavily scented flowers and plants. There is no rhyme or reason to the design. You might have a Sweet William plant popping up in four or five different places. A clump of Delphinium may be blooming on one side of your garden and a clump of Foxglove on the other side. Nothing beats a beautiful well-tended garden with its perfectly trimmed bushes, weed free soil, and bright full blooms. This climbing rose is on fire! The blooms start out as a deep red bud. As the rose blossom opens golden yellow petals are revealed. These golden yellow petals turn to orange and then back to the original fire red as the flower ages.
