There is nothing like being stuck inside in the cold dreary months of Winter and Fall. If you are a gardener or a garden lover, why not bring the outside in and celebrate your love for gardening through a Zen Garden Party. Plan it to break up the times between the holidays, or just to have some fun socializing before the hectic holiday season. It will give you that extra boost you need to lift your spirits and cater to your outdoor sensitivities at the same time.
If you want a true Zen party, everything in your event should be relaxing, refreshing, and invigorating. Use as many organic and gardening elements as you can. Recycled paper for your invites is a great way to start. The theme should pertain to your favorite garden colors, or colors that are prevalent in your own garden. Use brown stock paper for your invites, or pretty paper with your favorite garden flowers.
The décor is easy, and you will want natural beauty and fresh earthy green colors with vibrant splashes of garden flavor. Make nature your focus and use baskets for decoration, and flowers and potted plants as your centerpieces and primary focal points. You may even want to incorporate a tabled waterfall or equally relaxing décor piece that bodes well with the theme of Zen and trainquility.
The menu will be a breeze as well. Now is your chance to show off all of those lovely fruits and veggies you worked so hard for, and canned or frozen with love. If you have been herbing this year, use these to the max as well.
If you want to add an additional piece of gardening love to your party, have a small potted plant that you’ve taken care of and give one to each of your guests as a party favor. If you like, you can even attach a small card with your favorite garden recipe.
The number of ideas for a Zen Garden Party is endless and is only limited by your imagination. You will get so caught up in it, that you will completely forget that you are stuck inside with your garden delights.
